Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 October 2026

This policy covers the Skyward Oath game for iPhone and this website, skywardoath.xyz. In short: you sign in with an account, so your game is kept safe and goes with you to any phone; the game has no advertising and no tracking, and our server keeps only what your account, your saved game and playing with other players need.

Who we are

Skyward Oath is run by the Skyward Oath team, 167-169 Great Portland Street, Fifth Floor, London W1W 5PF, who is responsible for your information (the controller, under UK data protection law). Write to us at support@skywardoath.xyz.

Your account

To play, you sign in with Apple, with Google, or with your email address (we email you a one-time code to type in). Your account holds your email address and an ID that Apple or Google gives us for you. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email: Apple then gives us a private address that forwards to yours. We never see your Apple or Google password. Your account is kept on our server, which Supabase hosts for us. We use your email address only to sign you in and, if you write to us, to answer you.

Pre-registering on this website

Before the game launches you can pre-register on skywardoath.xyz. Pre-registering signs you in with Google or with your email address (we email you a one-time code), which makes your Skyward Oath account: the same one the game signs in to, so the gift for pre-registering reaches you in the game. We keep that you pre-registered and when, and whether you ticked the box asking us to email you when the game launches. That box is never ticked for you: if you tick it, we send you one email at launch, and you can untick it on the same page at any time, or write to us. We do not use your email address for anything else.

Your game

Your progress (your Hero, familiars, items and how far you have come) is saved on your iPhone, in the app's own storage, which goes with your device's iCloud or computer backups (Apple handles those under its own privacy policy). It is also saved on our server under your account as you play, so you can carry on from any phone you sign in on and don't lose it with your phone. Start over in the game's Settings erases it, on your phone and on your account.

Purchases

Starstones and the store's packs are bought through the App Store: Apple takes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy, and we never see your card or payment details. Each purchase is recorded by RevenueCat, a service that checks App Store purchases for us, under your account's ID (not your name or email). Our server keeps which purchases it has given you, so each is given once, and your Starstones and what you bought with them, with your saved game.

No advertising or tracking

The game contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code, does not use the advertising identifier, and never asks for your real name or any other details about you.

Playing with other players

Besides your account and your saved game, the Market, the Board, everyday PvP and allies are the only parts of the game that use the network. Everything else runs on your phone. On our server your account gets a six-letter player ID, and the game asks for a player name of your choosing.

  • The Board stores your player name, your ID, your Hero's level and stats, the familiars you fight with, your comment line, the posts you write and when, and when the game last opened. Other players see all of these. Posts are kept until they are removed.
  • The Market stores the offers you make and accept: the familiars, items and gold involved, and when. Other players see your offers, never who made them. Offers close after 48 hours, and what a trade brings is kept for 30 days.
  • Everyday PvP stores the crew that defends you and its strength (to find you opponents of a like strength), each fight with both crews as they fought and who won, kept for three days, and your wins each day for the Daily Win Ranking and its rewards, kept for 30 days. Other players meet your crew with your name on it, and the ranking shows your name, level and wins.
  • Allies stores the ally requests you send and receive and who your allies are, until one of you ends it, and the gifts you send: what, to whom and when. Your allies see your name, your Hero and when the game last opened.
  • Reports and blocks. When you report a post or a player, the report and what you reported are kept so that we can look at it, and we may remove posts and stop a player writing, trading or fighting other players. The players you block are kept so the block holds.

We use this information only to run these parts of the game. We do not sell it or share it with anyone, apart from Supabase, who stores it for us, and RevenueCat, who records your purchases for us.

Deleting your account

In the game: Settings, then Delete account. It deletes your account, your saved game and everything our server holds about you (your player name and ID, posts, offers, fights, ally links and gifts) straight away, and signs you out. A trade you already completed stays with the other player, without your name. You can also write to us at the address below with your player ID (in the game: More, then Ally, My ID), and we will delete it for you.

Children

The game asks only for what signing in needs (an email address, or an Apple or Google account) and nothing else about anyone. Player names and posts are chosen by the player and pass through a word filter. Please don't put real names or contact details in them.

This website

skywardoath.xyz sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising, and loads nothing from other companies: its fonts and pictures come from the site itself. Its pre-register page talks only to our own server (Supabase, as above), and to Google if you choose to sign in with Google; it keeps your sign-in only while the page is open. The company that hosts it may keep the usual short-lived server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the site.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
